SoDA 2010 Digital Marketing Outlook
SoDA (Society of Digital Angencies) just released results from their 2010 Digital Marketing Outlook. They polled thousands of execs from major global brands, traditional and Digital agencies, vendor and service providers, as well as freelance and independent Digital practitioners. The outlook: many believe the future of Digital Marketing is exceptionally bright.
The highlights:
- 81% of Brand Execs expect an increase in digital projects for 2010
- 78% of global participants believe the current economy will actually spawn more funds allocated to Digital
- 50% will be shifting funds from traditional to digital media
- 45% consider social networks/applications a top priority
Our outlook:
- The rise of the Consumer will continue to dictate how a brand interacts with their customers. The separation between the good and the bad will continue to widen. We will continue to see examples of brands “not getting it”.
- I see the smartphone becoming the universal remote for consumers’ lives and Facebook being their portal
- Experimental technologies like Augmented Reality and Voice control will become more mainstream
- Apple will continue on its course for world domination. Well at least to the point where everyone will use some type of Apple device to access digital content.
Check back same time next year to see how close our predictions were or were not.
